As our original article highlighted, it’s been over a year since Congressman Max Miller held a genuine town hall meeting with his constituents. Unfortunately, the pattern of evasion continues.
On May 24th, the 7th District Democratic Alliance hosted its much-anticipated Max Miller Empty Chair Town Hall. The event drew over 100 attendees, all eager to voice their concerns and hold their representative accountable. True to form, Max Miller did not show up. Despite being formally invited, there was no response from his office, no explanation, and no representative present to hear the voices of the community. The symbolism of the empty chair was striking—and intentional.
Adding insult to injury, Miller’s team had quietly scheduled another so-called “town hall” for the following week at the Westlake Community Services Center. This event was announced only in a small suburban newspaper and email. Registration was restricted to phone calls, with many being told that the event was already full.
And just like his previous attempts to control the narrative, Miller canceled the Westlake event at the last minute. No new date or time has been offered, leaving constituents once again Missing Max.
Despite this, members of the 7th District Democratic Alliance showed up to peacefully protest outside the Westlake venue, making it clear that the community’s demand for transparency and accountability is not going away. Photos and videos from the demonstration are circulating online, showing that even when Max Miller refuses to show up, his constituents do.
This supplemental update underscores the ongoing frustration with Miller’s avoidance tactics and highlights the growing momentum for genuine engagement in Ohio’s 7th District. The question remains: how much longer will Max Miller hide behind the illusion of access before he finally faces his constituents?
